So for some time I’ve been on this journey, a journey of hearing, listening, focusing on what it means to a Christian in the 21st century. Along the way I have shed stuff, gained stuff, lost stuff and discovered a whole lot about myself. I’m not perfect and I don’t have to be. I don’t have to pretend to be anyone else I just need to be happy in my own skin (thanks Phillipa Hanna).

Along the way I’ve felt encouraged, discouraged, uplifted and deflated but through it all there has been a constant, the constant that has been there even when I didn’t acknowledge it at times. The one who has carried me through the most challenging times in my life, holding me up. Gods continued pursuit of me and His constant song over me pushing me on, pulling me forward. And He has used people, family to be His hands, feet arms on the earth.

So why Pinion? I want to see us soar on the thermals of His presence and go higher in our pursuit of God. Living that out in our everyday, sharing with others all that God has been pouring into us

So Pinion, what’s it all about? Well first and foremost it isn’t about me – Donna Akodu even though I’m writing this first blog (hence no picture of myself). It’s about us, family, community like minded hearts coming together to encourage and build. Cheering each other on and watching each other soar.

It’s about the celebration of gifts, our differences, our diversity and the uniqueness that is the body of Christ in the 21st century. It’s about loving other, it’s about speaking truth in love, and acting and building a house of love. It’s like the commandment says Loving you neighbour as you love yourself. Loving God with all your heart and soul and mind Matthew 22 v 37-39.

This space is where we will share thoughts, ideas, practical tools and help to enable us to do just that. Contributors will come from all walks of life near and far. We’ll host workshops and events along the way.

So why not Join Pinion on the journey and become part of  Community of like minded hearts, family and friends.
